Aaron Calvert: MIND GAMES Edinburgh Fringe Festival

After graduating as Dr Calvert from Nottingham University, Aaron chose to pursue performing full time away from politics and following his passion in magic. Originally written, performed and toured whilst at medical school; Aaron’s critically acclaimed 5 star show, AARON CALVERT: MIND GAMES, excitedly debuts at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Currently working full time as a mind reader and hypnotist, at the age of 25, Aaron not only performs his stage show across the UK, he also performs at private events with clients including Samsung, AstraZeneca and Iris World-wide. An incredibly intelligent, interesting and quick-witted young man, Aaron’s genuine personality and charisma shines through both on stage and in person. Though Aaron would have made a wonderful doctor, in the current political climate he chose to take a leap of faith in his new career stepping away from his cohort’s paths working as Junior doctors, trading a sure fire career for an uncertain one which he throughly enjoys. The show has been co-written and co-directed with national, multi-award winning magician Sam Fitton, with additional contributions and direction from director and voice of Rimmel London, Tim Berryman.

This is the third offering of AARON CALVERT: MIND GAMES following its appearance in theatres in 2012 and 2014. Heralded as 5 star “Jaw-dropping entertainment from a modern day wizard” by The Derby Telegraph, the new AARON CALVERT: MIND GAMES has been especially written to follow the fringe format and represents his debut at the festival. Having previewed this iteration of the show to more than 600 people around the UK this is no work in progress, this is the real thing, with the Nottingham Post calling it “captivating psychological mischief”. In the latest rendition of AARON CALVERT: MIND GAMES you can expect to see him take audiences on a journey demonstrating how thoughts can be influenced and how the mind can be tricked during the show and every day life, in a fast paced, edge of your seat epic, with Impact magazine describing the interactive experience as “a night of intrigue, exceptional showmanship and many moments of unexpected humour”. The previous stage shows in 2012 and 2014 represented what Aaron was capable of whilst reading medicine full-time at Nottingham University, this fringe debut showcases what he will be able to achieve since stepping away from medicine last year and focusing full time on his performance. With the overwhelming success and support from his previous shows this should prove to be the most incredible yet. A pivotal moment in this young man’s career as he continues his career outside of medicine hoping to take this show across the country and into international arena.

AARON CALVERT: MIND GAMES Edinburgh Fringe is performed daily at La Belle Angéle (venue 301) from 13:30 – 14:30 the 6th of August to the 28th (excluding August 17th) as part of the PBH Free Fringe.
